Hoping to help my daughters boyfriend get his '90 240 to start in the morning - need some help.
He was driving it on the interstate earlier this evening. Car stopped responding to gas being fed. As it died, he looked at the dash - temp showed normal, no red dash lights showing as if the engine had died.
When he stopped, there was steam from under the hood. When I got there - the lower hose was split near the end. I cut the end off and was able to get it back on the radiator easily. Put water back in.
Lot of oil on the roadway - like the back seal had failed badly. No start. Pulled plugs ...wore SLAP out. Installed new NGKs and tried starting fluid - still no start, no real sign of a hit. Cap and rotor seem fine. Pulled a plug to check for a spark against the manifold. Had what seemed to be a weak spark.
Hope someone can give me some thing to check when I head over in the AM. Thanks for any and all help.
