The deer lost (see my Thursday May 22 thread) but now it looks I lost too.
The car is declared totalled as the damage was over $3,500 (I checked with two reputable body shops) I knew this was coming but I did expect a little more than the $1,525 the insurance company offered me.
How can I proof to the insurance that the car is worth more or is it only worth that?
This is a 1993 944T (silver with dark grey leather interior) with 211K miles on it. New calipers all the way around with new rear discs in the last month, brand new FPR in the last week, new front discs and master cylinder last year summer. Volvo theft alarm, Volvo 6 disc CD changer trunk mounted. Decent thread on tires. Runs like a champ.
What is it worth?
I need to get back with the Insurance company to let them know. They of course don't look at KBB or Edmunds and the likes, but hey we all know that you can't replace a upkept good redblock Volvo for $1500.
Please chime back and I would appreciate written ads/links for cars of similar age and mileage as ammunition.
I can buy it back from them for #1,381 which the boss (wife) says is out of the question.
Thanks in advance for your responses and this is probably it for me until I get another Volvo.
