No fuel in rail, Regina 900

1994 945 8 valve Regina.
hi list. 178,000. miles and my volvo left me stranded for the first time:(. The fuel pump failed. you could hear it not working. My garage replaced the pump and it ran fine for a week. Now, it died again. Just stopped running as I drove. There is no fuel in the rail. I vented the schrader valve and nothing came out. So I think that the pump issues aren't solved yet. The car is being to towed to the garage now and i'm looking for some more ideas to recommend to the mechanic. I have a new oem relay that still needs to be installed.
