95 960 Coolant Leak 900 1995

Hello

I have been adding coolant to my Volvo about once a week since I bought it about 8 months ago. A few people looked at it but no one could really pin point it.I never saw mayo in the oil..or bad tranny fluid..so i figured it must be a bad hose or joint somewhere. So while I was changing out the sway link a couple weeks ago..I noticed coolant puddling up towards the back of the engine on cross members and such. So I brought it to a Volvo mechanic I know. Well it's a head gasket!! Good news..its not leaking into the engine. Bad news is of course the $$$ to get this gasket replaced.
My question to you out there...
Seeing as I have had this leak for 8 months and the amount I'm adding hasnt increased much in this time..(the difference between the add mark and full mark on res..once a week) Could I hold off a few more months on the repair and keep adding coolant? Or is it a bad idea with the potential to leak into rather than out of the head/block.
Reason to hold off...purely $$$ at this time.

Many Thanks

Bakasan
