I think someone shot at me on the freeway!! 900

I think it was just a b.b. gun, but it was scary nonetheless. I live in Los Angeles and last night I was driving north on the 101 about to get on the 405 south. I heard a pop in the back and felt debris fall on me. I had just been at Home Depot where I had bought an 8 foot 2x4 and a big bag of potting soil. At first, I thought my potting soil had spontaneously exploded for some reason and the debris I felt was dirt. But, when I came to my senses and realized that it wasn't possible, I took a quick look behind me and saw that I had a hole in the small side window behind me. When I got home I called the police and the person who I spoke with could not have been less interested. Interestingly. I googled "car shooting Van Nuys" and found that at the end of March someone on the same stretch of freeway, but heading the opposite way was shot and actually died. Now I started freaking myself out that it is related and I just got lucky. I think whatever was shot into my car hit the 2x4, because it has a strange gash that I didn't remember when I bought it. But, I couldn't find the b.b. or bullet - so that is a bit perplexing.

The weird thing is that I really don't think I pissed someone off. I had not changed lanes for awhile, so it's not like anyone could think I cut them off. It was completely random.

So, today feeling lucky to be alive, I picked up a piece of used glass from a salvage yard. I was in the process of installing it and I got to the point where I took off all of the interior door trim. Then I noticed that the Haynes doesn't recommend a DIY of this project. It said that there are special tools needed to removed the fixed glass pieces (vs. the moving ones). I was about to throw in the towel and take it to have a pro fix it, but then I was looking in the FAQs section and saw a DIY for this. Although, I am not sure if the DIY is for a 940, because it describes the glass as triangular and this one is not. I just wanted to check in here to find out if you guys thought this is DIYable?

I have to say this whole thing is pretty upsetting. I don't have kids yet, but if I did, whatever was shot in my car hit exactly where a baby seat would be. Scary.
