Having an intermittant problem with what is reported as the fuel injectors. The two codes I get are 1-1-3 (injectors 1,2,4) and 1-1-5 (injectors 3,5,6), sometimes together, sometimes separately. The failure mode is extremely rough running if only one code is generated and a dead stall, usually at highway speeds, but not always, if both codes are generated. I've read of wire harness shorting to the head and once when it was only firing on half the injectors, I was able to grab the injector harness where it runs down between the intake ports and move it by at least an inch without any change. When it runs rough or completely dies, the only remedy is cycling the ignition off, then on. Then I can re-start the engine, often times while coasting in neutral on the highway. Once it stranded me for 15 minutes or so and would restart about a dozen or so times, only to stall again within 20 to 30 seconds. Fortunately, it finally stayed runnand an I could drive an hour home at normal speeds. I've tried pulling the fuel system relay while it's running to see if that would invoke the same error code, but it does not. I don't believe this is a fuel filter problem as the onset is sudden, recoverable by ignition cycling and there is no problem with hard acceleration at highway speeds, when fuel flow is maximized. I suppose it could be a fuel pump, but I don't see how that would generate injector codes. Thanks in advance.
