Hi All,
I have been chasing down an elusive short in the A/C wiring that is blowing fuses. I have checked every wire, switch, relay and connection [incl grounds] that I could find for functionality, continuity and resistance and didn't come up with any problems.... I've gone to the extent of pulling the center console apart, the steering column covers off, fuse panel kickboard off and pulled the wires & stripped the covering off the wires going to the dryer switch... I've disconnected all leads from that fuse so there is nothing on it but the A/C wire [BL-Y to microswitch]... pretty sure I've been thorough [checking against wiring diagrams in Bentley]
This am I double checked the lead to the comp clutch... not breaks or bare spots...
So i am wondering if it is possible to have an internal short in the clutch...??? [I suppose , yes]
And if so, how can I verify this, preferably while it's still on the car...?...The fuse does blow as the clutch engages [takes 2 sec to blow, you can watch it]
TIA,
John
