oil pressure switch/ AW70 transmission 200 1990

fellow bricksters, this is a call from the antipodies, Australia! I have benefitted from the forum knowledge in the past so I express my gratitude to all who have contributed. Having just installed an oil pressure gauge as well as volt meter and vacuum gauge I am faced with a task, how do you remove the existing oil pressure switch so I can install a VDO pressure sender/switch unit? As you all may know it is between the alternator and the oil filter, precious little space there for any standard tools [and yes I did disconnect the battery before starting work!] So any suggestions re technique and tools?
I am also experiencing a delayed shift from 1st to 2nd when first driving the car from cold, problem disappears within a few minutes then it changes smoothly and quietly. A/T has been flushed and refilled recently. I have read the comments re the kickdown cable, it can be pulled out and it snaps back cleanly, am not clear from both the Bentley and Haynes manual about how to set the adjustment correctly. So helpfull tip with that would be appreciated.many thanks. From the owner of a well looked after 240GL
