Hi all. I've had a 1994 940 non-turbo dropped in my lap. This is a california car so it comes with all the wonderful extra bits such as EGR. ANyway, the car has an odd no-start condition. It seems to go overly rich and simply not start. I've put new plugs in the car, and also yanked the wires and hooked them to a spark tester, and the car gets nice, strong spark. I've checked the timing and the car also seems to spray fuel when it hits TDC and the key is in. When I yank the plugs, they are soaked in fuel. I've swapped in brand new plugs with the same result.
In an effort to fix the problem I have swapped fuel pressure regulator, fuel pump relay, radio suppression relay and the powerstage, all with no success. Anyone have any idea as to what this problem could be? My friend suggests a bad coolant temp sensor and/or bad 02 sensor, but don't those only come into play after warmup?
