Amp install locations in 945 900

I am considering installing an amp for my stereo. I would like to find a place to install it other than under the floor-boards in the cargo area. Has anyone installed one elsewhere? I don't even need a head unit as I always use an ipod and could go directly into the amp.

The factory amp is still in position, but is it disconnected because I have an aftermarket head unit (that needs to be replaced). The speakers are really nice ADS ones that like 40W or more each.
