Don't do what I did.
I decided to fix the sagging headliner on my '86 745 last fall.
Pulled the panel, fixed cracks, cleaned it up really well.
Purchased material from a local upholstry shop and it matched really well.
Installed the fabric on the panel and it looked really good.
This morning when I was preparing to install it, things went wrong.
I trimmed out for the sunroof...too much.
Installed it this afternoon, and found that I trimmed the sunroof opening too much. I am pi$$ed. What a waste of time and effort.
Also it seems that since it sat over the winter (in the cellar) it must have bowed some because it cracked as I was installing it today.
I took it back out, pulled the new liner off and had a look.
The panel looks like crap.
Didn't I see here that Volvo still produces the panels?
Ugh. What a lousy day.
