soundproofing the dashboard 200 1991

has anyone tried soundproofing the dash from the inside? with the carpets out and a blower motor R&R coming soon, i plan to stick some soundproofing material (mcmaster item 5692T61) on the inside of the dash where i can. if anyone has done this, i'm interested to know the effect.

oh, firewall soundproofing is of course on the agenda too. that i already have a pretty good idea.
