Some background: Cleaned T/B, replaced IAC with a FCP rebuilt unit. Adjusted TPS per FAQ's. Car has idled between 500-600rpm ever since and dips to 450 when A/C and other heavy voltage equip runs(headlights etc) at same time. I used the OBD mode to test components and you can feel the distinct clicking of the IAC when it gets tested. So the IAC would appear to be good. I used the OBD to test the TPS and got no reading when I rotated the T/B stop apparatus so I replaced the TPS last night. No change. 500 rpm idle. I scoured the archives and saw an Art Bernstein post about how you should be able to feel the IAC working(clicking). So with car running I revved with one hand and had other hand on IAC and it does not appear to be getting activated. So I am now guessing the IAC is functional but not getting signal to activate. The TPS is a new Bosch so I am thinking the connector may be the issue. It does appear to have gotten some oil blow by in the female part of the connector, the old TPS was very oily inside. What cleaing agent should I use on the connector? Any tips on how to ensure a good coonection? Am I missing something basic here?
I do feel a nice and distinct click when T/B is moved off idle and again when it returns, so that should send the signal right? I know I can just adjust the linkage and be done with this but I have now spent some $$ on the IAC and TPS and would prefer this to work as it should.
