Fuel smell at rear of wagon no leak can be seen. After 2000 worth of work. 200 1988

After replacing. Tie rod ends ball joints strut inserts (bilstien) control arms and all bushings at the front I took the wagon to Volvo for an alignment only to find out I needed a new steering rack. It was replaced/rebuilt.

Now I have a strong fuel smell outside the car in the drivers side (oposite of the filler tube).

Could it be a leaking tank?
