Fuel filter/line replacement 700 1987

Hi folks,

I think I need to replace my fuel line and pump, and perhaps a couple other things in that area. I've got a gassy smell around the left rear tire, only after driving.

I figure my next move is to get my car up on ramps (the rear tires) and have a look to see if I can track down the leak. Whatever I find, I think I should do the fuel filter and its accompanying line.

Since I've never worked on the fuel system before, I could use a little advice. What parts, exactly, should I have on hand? I plan to order the filter and line this week. Any help with my 'shopping basket' before the end of the week would be appreciated.

PS - I have a 744 GLE, if that makes a difference to parts required/parts placement.
