1985 Automatic died while driving!! Help! 200 1985

I need your help! My dad lives 100 miles away and have no boyfriend or brother nearby to help me figure out the problem! Please throw out any ideas! I was driving my car between 35-40 mph steadily when the engine just died! The usual happened: power steering, power brakes and acceleration all went out! 2/3 full tank of gas and had only been running about 5 minutes after starting perfectly normal! Battery Terminals are tight and clean, I replaced the 25 AMP fuse even though it looked in tact, and all fuses in the fuse panel looked in order. As a young female in my state of despair and confusion I forgot to put it back into park thus resulting in it not starting for unknown reasons. (obviously figured that one out!) When I returned 5 hours later and put it into park it started just fine and drove me the 5 blocks back to my house!

Please please please, ask questions and throw out suggestions! THANK YOU!
