Fuel Pump Relay Substitute, Bosch for Hella? 900 1994

I just read the faqs and found out the easy way what I found out the hard way by pulling relays. I was surprised the car didn't have the familiar white rectangular Fuel Pump relay. I have the blue Hella relay described in the faqs (copied below):

Relays and Fuses:

Fuel Injection Relay Applications.

FI relays can differ by model. According to the Pocket Date Book from Volvo, all F/T engines (both Bosch and Regina systems) through 1993 use the -608 white relay regardless of turbo/non-turbo. For 1994 and after, B2XXF NA-engines use the -270 relay and T turbos use the -608 relay. All E engines use the -639 relay. However, some 760 Turbos use the green 1362914 relay. Per John Marshall in New Zealand, some of the later 9 series (1994 onwards) have a different layout of relays and use a blue Hella fuel pump relay, mounted second from the right in the front row. The one to the right of it is the same Hella relay, used for high beam lighting. The Hella relays on have 5 pins in the base and are marked as follows: Hella 12V/ 4RD/ 003-520-52. Even a diligent search of Volvo Technical publications (e.g., the wiring diagram, that for other electrical equipment, etc.) will not show this change in the color, size, and location of this relay (versus the white, rectangular, second-row position, for earlier 940s). Note that relays are not interchangeable.

I also have a Bosch relay out of a 1989 two-pump Bosch system. It is in a galvanized steel can labeled on top 12V 20/30A 0332204101 Bosch and on the side the diagram of the coil and contacts are identical to the Hella relay. Would this Bosch relay work as a replacement for the Hella relay and are there electrical differences?

The reason I would like to know is because I have a hot passenger compartment start problem. When the car sits in the sun, it takes about 10 seconds of cranking before starting, then runs fine, even though the engine hasn't run for many hours. When in the garage and cool, it starts normally. I have been reading the faqs and am trying to eliminate the problem. The relay seems like a reasonable place to start since it gets hot in the passenger compartment. The pre-pump is running, I think, but I don't know which fuse runs it to see if the engine runs differently when removing the fuse. Number 1 fuse is the main pump fuse I think but the fuse layout says nothing of the pre-pump.

Thank you!
