Intermittant "Won't Crank'; culprit found 700

Every once in a while my car will suddenly refuse to crank.
The car has behaved OK for about a month and today pulled its
trick again. This time I simply gave the positive battery terminal
a light smack with a small ball peen hammer, directly on the
crimp where the heavy stranded battery wire hooks up.
Bingo the car behaved normally again.
Close examination of the business end of the crimp revealed that the
battery wire strands are a fishy blueish green color (Copper oxide)

So I have a crappy crimp terminal. Now what? can the terminal be repaired/soldered or should I spring for a new battery cable.

I'm guessing that people may suffer with an intermittant cable crimps
and replace starters and batteries and still be cursed.

Bill
