Houston have a problem...
Car was a hard starter for awhile, was too busy to look at (thought it just needed a tune up)... then one day while in the middle of rush hour traffic it died and it wouldn't start up.
Crank no start... 1989 Volvo 240
already replaced
Spark plugs & wires
Cap & Rotor
Fuel filter & sock
In-tank fuel pump
Fuel pump relay
Fuel system fuse ( in engine compartment ) & holder recently replaced
already did
Cleaned battery connections
cleaned & checked #4 and #6
cleaned main grounds 4 ignition at rail
checked fuel pump regulator 4 flow at return hose (constant when jumping fuel pumps and when cranking )...no fuel coming out of front... could this still be a problem?
jumped fuel pumps and tried to start (still crank no start)
weird stuff?
will suspciously start (4 a second)when starter fluid sprayed into intake... I thought 4 sure it was a fuel issue... but now I'm not so sure?
led for diag unit always on when #2 plugged in (will no reset and no codes)
main pump sounds a bit whiney when jumped (is this normal?) flow to regulator seems normal though (no pressure testing equipment)
any help would greatly appreciated, i'm in a corner
