Blowing out my oil pressure gauge? 120-130 1968

1968 B18B ~150,000 miles.

I seem to be destroying my oil pressure senders. I had an issue with oil being blown out the sender (I thought) a few months back when I was fighting with ignition system. Excessive cranking was leading to a large pool of oil under the motor. I torqued the sender down very well, but the oil seemed to be coming out of the sender itself.

I replaced the sensor with a new unit from Carquest and it had been working fine until a few days ago, when I again noticed an oil pool and drips of oil under the car.

This leak is even worse. I can follow my car around by the oil drips and I seem to be down a full quart - even though I've put only 30 miles on the car in the last couple weeks. This car does not burn oil and all of it's gaskets and seals have been replaced.

I guess this could just be a coincidence, but I (again) suspect something a bit more sinister. The phrase "excess crankcase pressure" sends a shiver down my spine, but I do not think anything is wrong with my flame trap. I've removed and cleaned it recently and as near as I can tell it "blows through" fine.

Any ideas what is going on here. I don't want to keep putting new sensors in there just to have them fail in a couple of months.
