MOMO Steering Wheel Hub Adapters 200

Hi Guys,

I am considering putting a MOMO steering wheel on my 1980 242. On the MOMO site, they list a hub adapter for the 240's but say it is only for 1982 and newer cars (MOMO part 9010). I previously replaced the original "cruise ship" wheel in my 1980 with the smaller wheel from a 1988 with no problems -- a straight swap. Is there any reason why the MOMO adapter won't work on a 1980 ? Is there some difference in the mounting of the steering wheels from 1982 onwards ? Thanks.
