AC Hi pressure connector, (R 134) extension? 700

When my 1991 740 T was converted to R134 the new style snap on connectors were installed.

The hi side connector is on the rear end of the compressor. It is too close to one of the Pipe/Hose that comes off the back end of the compressor. I have tried 2 different snap on connectors and neither one will fit. It looks to me like short of grinding a flat spot on the connector snap collar might or might not let the connector go on.

The next easy idea is to replace the existing Hi pressure connector with a longer one. However the connector is a complete unit with threaded shank going into the compressor , just like the low side. Obviously this means that I would have to capture the 134 and not vent it!!!

I don't know which Compressor I have other than the ports are on the back end and the front end has a mounting flange with 4 bolts on the front.

I need to know what the thread size is for the threaded end on the high side connector and I need a source for a longer fitting, if they exist. My local NAPA store has stayed away from "getting mixed up with " much in the way of fittings.

Appreciate any input!!!

Woody
