Auto Tranny Gurus? Very Weird Tranny Auto Tranny Problems 200 1992

My '92 240 slid off the road last winter in an ice storm, and ever since, I have been having two weird auto tranny problems.

First, I think I screwed up something right after it happened. I put the car in reverse, to see if I could move, and the wheels just spun (I was in loose snow). So I put the car back in park, but I don't think the wheels had quit moving--there was this Errrrrr... noise. Ever since, in reverse, there is this clicking or knocking as you back up. You can hear it and feel it through the shifter. But here is the weird thing. If you push the shifter hard to the right, toward the passenger side, the clicking/knocking does not occur.

Second, every now and then (once every couple of weeks) when you start the car, the SRS and "upshift" lights stay on (that orange arrow which shows you have OD locked out) and there is this weird whining noise--it screams like a banshee, sounds like metal to metal. But if you shut the car off, and then start again immediately, no lights and no noise, which must mean it's some kind of electrical problem.

I'm pretty good with the basics on these cars, but I'm stumped on both of these tranny problems. Free beer to anybody who can diagnose these/advise how to fix.
