When i turn the lights on, the high beams come on. Moving the lever that would normally turn them off doesn't do anything. I don't know anything about how to fix this, or even attempt it, so any DETAILED advice would be really appreciated. I also don't know if the turn signal lever is supposed to make a clicking noise (which it doesn't) when i try to turn the brights off. Maybe the switch itself is broken? I've seen a few posts about a relay too. Is that the same thing?

My horn also doesn't work. I had the same issue with my '94 940, but never got around to fixing it. I've heard that the horn seems to be a problem with volvos, and that fixing it can be expensive and it may go out again. Just wondering what i should do about it, and if its true that the horn can be a recurring problem.

I should also probably mention that i've only been driving this car for two days.. so if there is anything i should know that may seem obvious, please let me know. It's all new to me. Thanks. :)

Dont know if this makes a difference but it's a 1992 240 Manual Trans Sedan with 179,000 miles on it.
