240 Steering rack leak 200 1981

81 244 with (I think) a ZF rack. It has leaked for the last three years (slowly) but just dumped a bunch of fluid the other night, after being parked. All the hose connections are dry, but one of the metal tubes on the rack itself is loose. I can't tell if it is broken or just loose, and ran out of time before I could mess with it last night. Does anyone know if the tubes can be replaced, and are they available from a supplier, or do I have to replace the rack?
