I have about 3-5k maybe a litle more to spend.

Although I rather spend less and invest and do some work on the car. Perhaps getting an older 740/940 wagon. I am partial since I have owned 2-3 already and am very familiar this model. I love the engine(B230s). There just doen't seem to be many clean ones out there that dont have other major problems?
So I am tempted to consider the 850s and even the V models v40-v70. up to 2003 A volvo mechanic told me to avoid the 850s since they have been know to have trany problems. The early V models are not going for much less in price than the later V models, So If I went that route, I should consider a later model for a bit more. They seem to have alot less maintenance than the older vehicles.

So if you catch any of my drift please help me out especially you multiple car owners!
Whats to seriously consider and avoid?
