hello everyone. i recently noticed that i have a pretty fast leak in my power steering fluid. it's slow enough that i can still use the vehicle but fast enough that i wouldn't take it anywhere out of town.
i tracked down the leak to a metal tube that is running from what i think is the steering gear. it is a metal tube that is in between the inner tie rods and is hidden behind a plate that is bolted to the frame. i removed the plate but i didn't have time to follow the tube to see where the other end goes so i'm not sure if it is one of those high pressure tubes that connect to a rubber tube at the other end or just a regular copper tube.
can anyone tell me where these tubes run and if they can be replaced by an amateur. there were a couple tubes attached to the gear and they both ran off towards the drivers side.
if this is a job i could do are there any diy guides out there for this type of thing?
thanks
