88 245 that occasionally has no power 200 1988

Maybe every 10 or so times I drive this car, it acts up. It will seem to be fine, maybe a little sluggish, until it gets to 35-40 mph, and then it just really bogs down. If I give it more gas, it won't take it, it will sometimes backfire. It has no power, and will barely be able to climb a hill.

Today, it happened, and I stopped after a couple of miles of this, turned it off, and after a few minutes started it back up, and it was fine. Full power, just zipped on up to 70 mph, like usual.

What would you check? I have an 87 I am retiring that I can pull things from and swap out to check....
