1) the motor mounts are very cheap. OE ones from Tasca volvo cost 13 a piece (but make sure you order with part #s. 274110 and 274111 respectively). there's NO point getting aftermarket crap.
2) replace the two lower alternator bushings at the same time. for a few reasons:
* the rear bushing is close to the oil filter and wear out fast. get a poly bushing at least for this position.
* you get much, much better access to the hidden engine mount bolt by removing the alternator.
3) you better have access to a vice. with all due respect to Dave Shannon, i don't see any way that i could've loosened the two nuts that hold mounts to the brackets.
4) file or sand the mating surface flat on the brackets. otherwise there'll be a gap between the bracket and the mount.
5) if you lifted the engine like i did (credit goes to Art Bernstein), you can do both mounts at the same time safely. make sure you buy load-rated eyebolt and carabiner.
6) for later cars so equipped, you need to stack up one end of the 2 by 4 to clear the ABS module and ignition coil.
