1996 volvo 960 suddenly won't start 900 1996

Our poor car has issues...It is misfiring in #4 and is leaking oil...but otherwise it has been running ok. It started and drove fine yesterday...this morning it would not turn over and got progressively weaker...and then totally dead. This afternoon I gave it a jump start and it started. I let it run about 30-45 mins and then turned it off and tried to re-start...nothing...only the dash display lights...I tried to jump again and it will not turn over it charges a bit and the engine begins to crank, then nothing. Does this just sound like a totally dead battery or another problem? Thanks for the help!
