Bosch Voltage regulator question 200 1989

Today I finally got around to changing the VR on my beloved wagon. The job was easier than I thought. I mean I knew it was a straight forward job, but I wasn't sure if getting to it was gonna be easy. Good thing I bought a stubby screwdriver (+ -) set! I was able to crawl under and get to it between the sway bar and the steering rack. Putting the VR was a snap--didn't have to wrestle with the legs to get it in! Anyway, when I pulled out the old one, the shortest leg was about .23mm and the longest was maybe a tad over .25mm. Not sure if it's original but it sure was dirty. The new VR is Bosch (# ending in 028) and upon comparison with the old, I noticed that everything looked almost the same except that the new one I got from FCP doesn't have that greenish capacitor(?) thingy on top, right by the first leg. The old VR has it. Come to think of it, it didn't appear to have any markings on the "circle" where BOSCH would have been stamped. So maybe it's not original? Do all Bosch VR for '85-'93 240 not have the green thing?
