Tranny mount symptom? 700 1987

Hi folks,

I think I need a new AW transmission mount - when I let off the gas, or accelerate suddenly, my shift lever gives a little kick. My linkage bushings also need replacing, because there's a LOT of slop there, forward-back (none side-to-side).

Now, I am assuming that my engine mounts do NOT need replacing because my cooling fan does not brush the bottom of its housing, and there's more than a quarter inch between the cross member and the oil pan. I know that shearing force is the natural weakness of these hydraulic engine mounts... so a little movement is not unexpected in my mind. Am I wrong?

Thanks!

Ari
