Okay, over the past six months, the driver door window has been getting slower and slower. An additional observation is that the last two inches of upward travel results in a screeching sound near where the lock/unlock knob is. The window now takes close to 20 seconds to go from fully open to fully closed... I know this is stressing the window motor.
I have checked the potential electrical problems with no positive findings. As a result, I have three questions:
1: What parts can I expect to have to replace to resolve the problem?
2: Are there critical lubrication points/areas to hit that won't smear up the window.
3: Is there a source for the inside rubber window wiper (like Dave Barton's solution for the outside)? The felt has worn off and when the window goes down, the wiper gets "sucked down"/folded over as a result.
Sorry for the potentially simple solution to the problem, but I don't have the 20 hours a week to figure these things out I used to, I'm lucky to get 2 hours a week to do standard maintenance and repairs... dang, I hate the 150 mile work commute!
Thanks in advance!
