engine sputtering 200 1989

Hi,
I have an 89 Volvo 244, 5spd. Recently, the check engine light came on. On one occasion, upon starting the engine, it sputtered and shut off. I cranked the engine twice and it evenetually started with assistance to the gas pedal (I am not sure that pushing the gas pedal is what actually helped, since I've had this problem only once.) Pretty much every time I start the car, the car shakes for the duration of the engine starting; vibration of the rear exhaust is most obvious.

I got the following engine error codes: 113, 231, and 234.
