NEW MOTOR LEAKING OIL?? 200

I have a 1988 245dl 102k with a 1990 153k block head waterpump. The original motor blew do to overheating. Before having the new motor installed the compression checked between 145-150 on each ctylinder. I have been drivng it now for 2 weeks(700 miles). I am getting a silver dollar size spot of oil every time I park the car. I think I have traced the leak to coming from the head gasket on the intake front side of the motor. The oil on the dip stick looks like pure oil. The oil level has not dropped below full. I just drove a 70 mile trip at speeds up to 90 mph(ran great) and noticed the back lift gate has a misting of unburned oil(I think) on it. The level of oil is still at the top of the dip stick. Where is this oil coming from?
Note: The original motor had 2 cylinder walls severally scored and the rings were shot. The car was driven out of oil on the interstate over 200 miles. Could oil have traveled into the exhaust valves and down in the the exhaust system? Would that explain the oil in the back of the lift gate? Is the seeping of the head gasket a sign I need to torch the head? What should I do to find the problem? Thanks for the input!!!
