She is driving me up a wall. In the past few weeks I have replaced many items on one of my new to me 240's. I never want to throw parts at a car, but when I picked this 240 up, I had some stuff laying around from my other volvos. My 89 244 will idle all day perfectly, but as soon as she goes in gear and I depress the gas--she croaks. Now many tuneup parts were replaced...cap,rotor,plugs,fuel pressure regulator, as well as mass air flow meter(which she actually needed).
I inspected for vacum leaks and did not see any. The rear pump is not working upon inspection, but I was unsure if this was the problem because I have driven several of my Volvos on the main pump until I replaced the tank pump and never had problems like this. Could a Throttle positioning sensor, or a coolant temp sensor be the culprit?---Or Should I swap out the tank pump> .....the only scary part about messsing with the tank pump is getting it out. I soaked the area with PB blaster, and its still not twisting with a moderate tap.
