I have tried to research like crazy but keep getting conflicting information. I am trying to replace the compressor on my 90 240. I contacted Jon @ nostalgicairparts.com and tried to follow the advice of previous posters. The advice has been to order a Sanden 709 with fill ports on the back and move the AMM bracket. Jon told me that he won't even sell them like this because he would rather lose the sale than get all the returns he has in the past. He says it won't work and that the OE replacement is fine. He says it has something to do with the o-ring hookups in the back hitting the engine or something. Has anybody done this lately? Is this why it is noted that you will have to move the AMM bracket? Sorry, I know this has been talked about before but I would hate to tell him to send it anyway and then it doesn't work. Perhaps Rludwick or somebody who has discussed this before can help. My other option is to pull a stock compressor from a 240 or 740 at pull-a-part for $42 w/30 day gurantee. Opinions on that? Jon wants a part # to reference... This is my first post but I have learned so much from the board and have saved thousands I'm sure. Thanks to all who have contributed so much.
