Lowering of suspension-'70 model 120-130 1970

Hi to all you brickboard members,

I reside in Johannesburg-South Africa and haven't visited the forum for quite a few months now.

I own a 1970 model 122s, 2 door and am very keen to have the suspension lowered.
Importing a set of lowered coil springs either from IPD or Skandix would be too costly, so the next option would be to have the existing springs refurbished and cut of course. The question is how much do i cut?

I'm not sure what these guys would do to the springs during the refurbishment process, but i'm assuming that they will bring the springs to their original height??? so unless one knows the original height, would one know how much to cut? is this the case?

Does anyone know the std uncompressed height of the springs for a 122s sedan?

Or would it rather make sense to gauge from the existing set up how much to lower the car by and advise the spring company the quantity of coils to remove?
I read somewhere that 1 coil removed = 1.5" lower? is this true?

I obviously need some help here, so i would appreciate any suggestions.

Much obliged.
