I took the seats apart fully prepared to just do away with the heaters altogether, but after seeing how they work I decided to go for it. Now this trivial little switch is the last thing to be resolved before I reasssemle and install the passenger side seat in the 244.
The 1/2" round puck with an aluminum cap and spade terminals completes the circuit in the heater element. To avoid a burnt bum it breaks that circuit when it reaches a certain temperature.
I've got one that is always open. Even after sitting in the freezer all night I can't measure continuity across it. Has anybody dealt (bothered) with this switch before? I'm not having luck matching the part number with anything online. Anybody know the specs (temperature cutoff) of this switch?
Here's what I read off the switch:
ELMWOOD
T177
10(6)A 250V
L34C 92 921 85G
The easy answer of course is to get one from a junked car, but I don't have easy access to such a car right now.
Thanks,
Will
