Car door latch fixing 700 1987

Hi folks,

I need to fix my driver's door outside latch - it's always been a little stiff, but today it went POP and now only the inside latch will open the door. Looking at the mechanism where the door latches to the pillar, working the outer latch will not even make the little rocker pop back out.

I need to get into the door to fix this. I have some questions about opening the door up - it's a 740GLE sedan.

1. How does the inner panel come off the door? I figure it just pops off.
2. Will the GLASS fall out when I remove the inner panel?
3. Will I need Torx bits?
4. Any caveats?
