I'd like to share a new trick I figured out today!

I always wanted to be able to measure feul rail pressure. I collected couple old rails from the yard to fabricate one according to the idea I got from someone in the brick board (I forgot his name, sorry). However, I found a new way today. I'm selling a 92 244. I already have a buyer and planning to do the transaction in a week. In the process taking all the fancy things off the car, like the big tach, the battery negative terminal switch, etc. I noticed something I did not pay much attention to before. On this particular car, there is a feul presure gauge fitting on the rail and another one right before the main pump (schrade valve? the same thing on you bicycle). I happened to be a biker and have a frame pump with a schrade fitting and a 150 PSI gauge on it. I was surprized to find out that I can simply thread the pump either on the rail or in front of the main pump to read the pressure. I wonder how many of the 240s and 740s have such fittings on them. I'm planning to take this special rail and the other fitting off and put on my other car. Anyone else ever notice this. I have 4 RD Volvos and this is the only one with the fittings. If I see any in the yards, I'll grab it for sure. Erwin
