1989 240 starting hard when cold, runs a bit rough until warmed. 200 1989

Yeah, had that problem with the Volvo today. It's an 89 240 automatic wagon. Today was the first day this happened. Of course, this has also probably been the coldest morning we've had since buying the car this summer.

It turned over a lot before starting, and didn't want to run properly until it was warmed up. Bogged a little, idled kinda rough, etc.

We haven't done much to the car since buying it. Air filter, plugs, cap+rotor, flame trap, fluid changes, and that's pretty much it.

I looked and i couldn't find any vacuum hoses that were amiss. The plastic intake hose looks to be intact. All the wiring I could track looked good. I replaced the engine ground strap because the old one was full of holes and badly deteriorated.

I noticed that from '89 on, 240s had a cold-start valve bolted to the underside of the manifold. Mine does as well. I remember my old BMW 535is had a cold-start valve that caused the car to run poorly until it warmed up, but that was only on REALLY cold days, and even then it would just idle rough for a minute. It started quicker than the Volvo as well. This morning it was at least in the 40s. Of course, that's 2 completely different cars.

Still, does it sound like the cold-start valve? Or maybe a temp sensor connected to said valve? What else might this problem be?

Any help is appreciated, as always! :)
