how to confirm aw70 year when off the car? 200

brixters,
i bought a tranny that supposedly came off a 92 244 with 171k miles.
1) how can i confirm if this tranny came off a 92?
2) is there a date stamp in the tranny as on the engine block?

on top of the tranny the box has 55 on top of it. does this mean anything?

the model info plate confirms AW70 (03-70).

seems to be in good condition, no leaks in the od tailshaft or apparent damage.
