I have two 940 Estates. A 1993 which runs just about perfect, and a 1992, which I fear has none of the 1993 upgrades. The 1993 feels heavy and solid on the road, and has no dive under braking. The 1992 rolls and dives, and bounces. The rear shock absorbers have been replaced about 2 years ago, according to the previous owner, but the ride is quite harsh at the back; it bounces over bumps, rather than absorbs them. There is not much in the FAQS on HANDLING / SUSPENSION, so any advice is welcome.
Can I upgrade the 1992 to 1993 spec. easily e.g. can I add better anti-roll bars to the 1992 car.
The car had a failed spring on the rear, and it was replaced, probably should have replaced the pair. I had the tyres at 32 all round, but i think they are at 26, which made a very noticeable difference, but it still does not feel refined. I had the car serviced, but not by a Specialist. The mechanic did not criticise the bushes.
I was going to fit Bilstein dampers to the front. What should I do as the first move? If I start replacing bushes, which should I do first. Thanks, jeremy
