So here is the list of symptoms with my driver's side front window (power):

-goes down just fine, will not go back up (without forcing it)
-when i try to put the window up, i can hear the motor working but i hear a clunking, skipping noise
-the only way to make it go up is by forcing it up with my hand as well as holding down the switch
-the window falls when i shut the door or going over big bumps in the road. this seems to be getting more severe with time

that's just about it. I've been told its a broken regulator and i probably wouldn't care except that it gets cold in Maine and it's about that time. I'm hoping to do this replacement myself, so i'm looking for good direction on how to go about it and opinions on if it is in fact the window regulator. I've never opened the door panel, but i'm looking to do this with the help of a friend who knows more about this than i do but he's never done this before. Any help is much appreciated.
