I have a 91 740 that has been sitting for about a month. Now it won't start unless I use starting fluid. I put in some new gas and went for a drive to get it good and hot. stopped at the store and it wouldn't restart. Put starting fluid to the intake and she started but still idling rough. Going down the road it runs great, very good acceleration, not hesitation or anything. Get home and turn it off, and it restarted only after I stomped on the gas and again rough idle.
Last year I replaced the regina inginition, cap, rotor, plugs and wires as well as a new fuel filter. I can hear the fuel pump turn on. I did notice I had a crack in the crank position sensor? from the FAQ it sounds like that is a likely cause, but I thought that controlled spark, not fuel which seems to be my limiting factor.
Any insight?
