88 245 died and won't restart 200

I had been having some trouble with the car and posted about it earlier. About every ten times I drove the car, it would seem to have no power. If I pushed too hard on the accelerator, it would just really bog down, and make a horrendous noise after a couple of seconds, like a backfire.

Anyway, swapped out the AMM, and it worked for a while. Last couple of days it started doing it again. Not all the time, but maybe one in 10 times I'd be driving the car and it would go into sluggish mode.

So today, light turns green, and I am under heavy acceleration, and all of a sudden there is a pretty good sounding bang, and then the car starts sputtering. Pulled into a parking lot and the car died. Restarted it and it ran for maybe 5 seconds and then died. Sat with it for a while and kept trying, but would just start up, run for a second or two, and then die. Gave up and finally got a ride home.

So I need to head back out there and see if I can get it running. The 25A fuse on the fender is good, but I'll check the connections and bring a spare fuse just in case. Gonna swap out the AMM again to see if that helps. Really not optimistic about either of those two helping. What other ideas or suggestions do you have? If the AMM is not powered, it should idle fine if the AMM is the culprit, correct?

Any quick replies will be greatly appreciated!
