Has anyone had installation issue with the blue poly endlink bushings?

I have a set of 8 and when I went to installed them, I found that they were a bit taller than the stock rubber bushings. The consequence was that I could not put the endlinks back together with poly on both ends. I was able to get one set of polys on, but I had re-use the rubber bushings on the top.

Is this normal? It's probably not a big deal to shave a little length off the tubes or to use a longer bolt but it seems weird that I'd need to modify my suspension parts to use poly endlink bushings. There's no mention of required mods in the IPD catalog or website.

Thoughts and/or experiences?
