Looked around on the forums, and I didn't see the same problem as mine, so I'm posting this:
I've got a 89 240 here, and we used it fine for about a year, than the wipers went slower and died. They'd work sporadically, but when they were used, it was clear the motor was getting very hot.
I went to a junkyard and got the _last_ wiper motor they had (all the other ones were gone), and I installed it in a different car, and used the one that I knew was good in the car that needed it..
Worked fine, and about a month later the same thing happened. It got slower and died, and the motor gets very hot. I think also eventually it blows a fuse, but why the motor gets hot before that happens, I don't know why.
All the wiper linkage seems to work well, and doesn't seem to have any resistance. I'm going to throw the junkyard motor in, (but that means I'll still be short one motor, since we have 2 volvos), but I don't want to kill another motor.. Plus, it's been a few months since I got the junkyard motor. so I don't think I can return it.
Why am I killing motors?
