Belts to alternator too short! 200

I just installed a rebuilt alternator on my 1983 Volvo 240 (B21A). The "new alternator seems to be a bit bigger in diameter than the old one and is a AL57 (70Amp) Bosch. The old one is the original and is a 55 Amp I think. The alternator belts are two short. The Volvo supplier has new belts at 10x920 size and this is the same for all years. Has anyone else experienced a problem with belts being too short and found a replacement that will fit?
